Geeking out at Tech Week in Chi-town: Tim Daly reports!
The first annual Tech Week convention rocked the Windy City this weekend, and it was an event that Dom & Tom wasn't about to miss!
Members of the D&T Chicago office "The Forge" headed over to Chicago's Merchandise Mart to participate in the convention, which featured keynote addresses, workshops, and panel discussions about the latest in technology and entrepreneurship in Chicago.
From their website: Chicago is a new type of technology hub. That vision inspired TechWeek, with over 2000 entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators, 4 days of conference sessions, over international 150 speakers, 4 days of an expo hall with over 100 exhibitors, 35 competing tech startups, and over 30 independent off-site events. TechWeek connects the newest web and mobile technologies to thousands of Chicago business, academic, community, art, and media professionals- all within one week. Welcome to the new culture of connectivity.
Major speakers included:
- Aneesh Chopra, Chief Technology Officer of the United States and Presidential appointee
- J. B. Pritzker, Founder of New World Ventures, philanthropist and venture capitalist extraordinaire
- Craig Newmark, Founder of Craigslist
- Chicago's own Matt Moog, CEO & founder of Viewpoints Network (www.viewpoints.com) and Built In Chicago (builtinchicago.org)
As you can tell, the event was amazing, and we all had a blast! The panels were fun and enlightening, and the expo and presentations highlighted some great new products and ideas.
Once again, it just goes to show that when it comes to innovation in technology, Chicago is the new place to be, and Dom & Tom will always aim to keep our company at the cutting edge!
